The Problem Solvers Holy Driver was written and recorded by our QBP WheelHouse/ PD & D band over the past few years and finally comes to press. This wheelbuilder's "roadie" (think music, stupid!) assists in quickly driving spoke nipples to a presetable depth. It is destined to become another metal classic.
During the practice jams the Holy Driver has been used for intense and diverse wheel building sessions. Its design includes a hollow center with set screw to load in cut spokes as the centering device. If a tip breaks, another spoke can be cut to fit and easily replaced.
Bike shops that do a lot of wheel building might like to have a few copies of Holy Driver on hand. This tool can be set up with a 1.6mm spoke to work with 1.8mm nipples or a 1.8 spoke to work with 2.0mm nipples. The depth of the spoke tip can be varied as well for different builds. Also, the handle end of the tool can be slashed down to the preference of some key wheelbuilders who might hold the tool tight inside their hand.
